Ladies Football
A player wishing to register to play Ladies football with the ISSC does not require a transfer / permit if they have not played League or Championship football for a period of 3 years (provided other eligibility conditions are satisfied). Please complete the Exemption Form and obtain signatures if you have played football before but do not require a transfer / permit.
Permits
Permits allow the players to play from the 31st March to 30th September. The permit deadline is the 1st July. You must be a registered member of your current club to be eligible for a permit to play with the ISSC.
The deadline for obtaining a permit is the 1st July however, we highly recommend that you start the process early to allow for time for it to be approved!
Transferring from a club inside of Canada to the ISSC
To transfer from a club inside of Canada to the ISSC, a player must complete the form linked below. Please ensure your current club secretary has signed the form before sending to the ISSC secretary at secretary.vancouverissc.ca@gaa.ie. The deadline for transfers is the 1st July.
Transferring from a club outside of Canada to the ISSC
To transfer from a club outside of Canada to the ISSC, a player must complete the transfer form linked below and send it to your current club and county secretaries to sign off on the transfer. Please then email the form to the ISSC secretary at secretary.vancouverissc.ca@gaa.ie.
Once the form has been returned, please send it to info@lgfa.ie for final approval.
Mens Football
If you have ever played a competitive game for a football club you must acquire a transfer or sanction to be able to play football for the ISSC. Please follow the steps below to obtain a transfer or sanction to play!
Transferring from a club inside of Canada to the ISSC
To transfer from a club within Canada to the ISSC, a player must complete the form linked below. Please ensure your current club secretary has signed the form before sending it to the ISSC secretary at secretary.vancouverissc.ca@gaa.ie. The deadline for transfers from a club within Canada is the 1st July.
Transferring from a club outside of Canada to the ISSC
To transfer from a club outside of Canada to the ISSC, a player must create an account on Foireann. Once created, proceed to the Profile > Player Transfers > Start an Application.
Note: The player may need to add their home club to their profile before beginning the transfer process.
The deadline for transfers from a club outside of Canada is the 30th April.
Dual Players
Players who play football with the ISSC and hurling with a different club must complete the form below. Please send the form to either club secretary at the start of the season.
Sanctions
Sanctions are given to players intending to play for a Club in an area governed by the Canadian Board from the 1 March to the end of October in any one year. The sanction deadline is the 1st July. You must be a registered member of your current club to be eligible for a sanction to play with the ISSC.
To obtain a sanction to join the ISSC from a club outside of Canada, an application should be made online through the GAA Player Transfer System within Foireann.
The deadline for obtaining a sanction is the 1st July however, we highly recommend that you start the process early to allow for time for it to be approved!
Insurance
If you are arriving in Canada after the 31st March and are therefore only eligible for a sanction/permit, it is necessary to purchase insurance to be eligible to play. Permits will NOT be processed unless insurance has been purchased and it is to be provided with the Sanction/ Permit form.
