Just to let you know training is back on this Friday at Capilano rugby clubÂ at 6.30. We will be going back to the format of having ladies and gents training sessions. If you know of any one, Irish or not who may be interested please bring them out as we would really like to grow our numbers this year.
Then Saturday afternoon at UBC we have a game of Australian Rules against the Vancouver Saints at UBC. This is our first game of the season and a chance to keep our winning record from the first game we played. For those that played that day it was a great team effort and enjoyable win. After week 3 of the Black Frog sevens tournament, it’s getting very tight at the top of the tableÂ with 4 teams within 2 points of each other.
The Wildcats had a good win over The Trailer Park Boys to leapfrog them to the top of the table.
The Beachcombers got back to winning ways and recorded an impressive win over The Goonies to stay in contention.
McGinn’s Army eased past Strawberries & Cream who are are now in dire need of a stimulus package of mammoth proportions.

Another very successful night for week 2 of The Black Frog Sevens Tournament.
The Trailers Park Boys still hold the lead withÂ maximum points from their 2 games thanks again to the ladies scoring.
The Wildcats are elevated to 2nd place with a win by the narrowest of margins over McGinn’s Army.
The Goonies had a convincing win over Strawberries & Cream who remain at the foot of the table.
There is prize money of $200 for the winners and $100 for the runners up. This prize money will be given out at the conclusion of the tournament on the Friday that precedes St. Patrick’s day to help you kick off the weekend.
Also for those interested, the Australian rules teams the Cougars and the Saints are currently training indoorsÂ mid week and welcoming to anyone interested in dropping in. The SaintsÂ train on a Wednesday and the CougarsÂ currently training onÂ a Thursday.
The Black Frog 7’s Mixed Gaelic Football competition kicked off last Friday.
We had a very successful opening night to the 2009 sevens tournament with almost 50 people in attendance and we hope to add to this for week 2 on Friday night.
The Trailer Park Boys have raced into an early lead by winning their game and securing the all important bonus point thanks to their ladies scoring.
Strawberries & Cream prop up the table with a complete lack of imagination which is reflected by it’s own name.
It’s not too late to come out and join in the fun.
